Job Title Manager Proposals Job Description Responsible for the activities of the Proposals Department including all proposals, pre-qualifications and related correspondence. Ensures that traditional market data is maintained to a high degree of accuracy, this includes reporting the as-bid data for market analysis as well as tracking the award of projects either to ABC Corp or the company’s competitors and reporting accordingly. Ensures that the operating unit has the capacity, resources and equipment available to successfully execute the project bid. Ensures that tenders are properly selected, prepared and reviewed to be consistent. Ensures that the bids are made only for projects where the company has a reasonable chance of success taking into consideration the customer, the competition and the risks involved. Supports the development of the Project Execution Plan in conjunction with the Project Manager. Prepares and submits proposals without errors, on schedule, in accordance with the Capture Plan and develops the Basis of Bid. Wins additional work for ABC Corp at agreed margins of profit, with all risks identified and quantified in accordance with ABC Corp procedures. Supports Project Manager and Negotiation Team with detailed back-up and analysis as well as relevant correspondence, clarification and proposal documents. Contributes towards strategic planning initiatives. Participates in the development of capture strategies for targeted projects. Monitors and maintains department budgets. Provides guidance in the pre-qualification process. Collaborates with the Business Development Director to develop successful bidding strategies. Coordinates with Country Managers for intelligence on future projects. Supports Project Managers through the bid process. Ensures Capture Strategy is implemented during the bidding phase. Contributes to the project risk/opportunity management process. Coordinates with Market Analyst and ensures project data is updated for prospective work. Travel Job Type Regular Date Required Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering. Experience At least 5 years experience in a similar position in the oil and gas industry. Qualifications: Organizational skills and time management, effective communication skills, and effective computer skills.
