Description:
Senior Operations Engineer Oil & Gas Client, a growing Independent Oil & Gas Company with over 35 years in the business, has a unique opportunity for a hands-on, operations-focused Senior Production Engineer located in beautiful Tyler, Texas. Position performs a vital role in the management, planning, and successful operation of marginal gas wells within assigned region. This individual will embrace the Company’s philosophy of producing marginal natural gas wells and supervise District Production Superintendents and/or Production Foreman to implement that philosophy. The individual will need to have a strong operations background including down-hole, workover, and compression operations experience, mechanical aptitude, be detail and business results oriented and demonstrated ability to make good technical and economic operational decisions. The successful candidate will work with management to achieve the objectives and goals of the organization, develop plans to implement such goals, and manage the implementation of organizational initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for the management of all production operations (primarily natural gas) within assigned region to ensure economically viable production. • Directs District Production Superintendents and/or Production Foreman to ensure operational goals, objectives, and initiatives are attained. • May provide assistance to Operations Engineers in the technical and economic evaluation of acquisition targets, evaluation of new properties, and development of enhancement project plans. • Monitors daily activity reports, production rates, plunger cycles, lease operating expenses and ongoing projects to ensure effective and economic production of marginal wells. • Responsible for monitoring, management, and control of lifting costs. • Coordinates engineering aspects of production, workovers, compression, gathering, etc. with District Production Superintendent and/or Production Foreman. • Coordinates the purchase of materials for daily operations, gathering, compression, etc. with purchasing department. • Responsible for approval of vendor invoices for production related purchases, equipment, and services. • Ensures all regulatory, environmental and safety compliance issues are met. • Supervises District Production Superintendent and/or Production Foreman to include providing direction and feedback regarding daily activities and development, and execution of project lists. • Reviews performance of District Production Superintendent and/or Production Foreman including goal setting, monitoring, mentoring, coaching, teamwork, training, and setting priorities. • Responsible for people/talent development in assigned area. • Provide oversight to management of subcontractors providing service on-site. • Responsible for development and maintenance of a team environment focused on learning and continuous improvement. • Monitors activities from the office and occasionally from field locations. • Reports to President. Required Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred, but not required. • Fifteen (15+) years experience managing oil and gas field operations including overall management of personnel, planning, and reporting. • Strong operations working knowledge of all surface and down-hole production equipment including plunger lifts systems, compression, and gathering systems. • Diversified down-hole knowledge combined with strong mechanical aptitude. • Organized and administratively proficient with ability to manage time and workload effectively. • Demonstrated skill in presenting information in a concise, economic-based manner. • Second level management/supervisory experience preferred. • Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage successful organizational change. • Excellent communication/interpersonal and team building skills
