Description:
Job Title E&M Engineer, Electrical Job Description The Marine Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining and upgrading shipboard power distribution and associated control systems onboard dynamically positioned vessels and construction/pipelay barges, as well as interacting and providing technical support to the electrical maintenance/repair crews. Responsibilities and duties will include but not limited to: Ensuring primary consideration is given to HSE issues in all activities undertaken within areas of responsibility. Ensure approved, scheduled and applicable class required maintenance is performed on the power distribution and control systems of each vessel. Provide technical support for diagnostics and repair of electrical systems, reference systems and reference/mechanical systems. Supervise/interact with all electrical maintenance/repair crews at various locations including offshore and marine support facilities. Familiarization with each vessel’s power/control system and manage/coordinate and conduct periodic calibration updates & FMEA's. Periodically review vessel power/controls systems logs and make recommendations for improved operation. Write and review system/equipment specifications, perform systems /equipment and vendor evaluations. Preparing, revising, and/or reviewing technical manuals, engineering operating procedures, instructions, specifications, standards and PMS documentation for cognizant equipment and systems. Assist in the design and engineering of shipboard electrical power generation and distribution systems. Conduct shipboard and land-based testing, investigations, analyses and evaluations of equipment. Interact with project management in support of project requirements. Must have a comprehensive understanding of marine power and control systems. Extensive experience working with marine vessel power systems, control systems and diagnostic systems. Travel Up to 25% Job Type Regular Date Required Job Requirements Education: Electrical Engineering degree is required. Experience: Minimum 10 Years Marine Electrical Engineering experience. Shipyard experience with new-build vessel construction, upgrades, conversions or repairs. Experience with electrical automation systems based on PLC technology Qualifications: Rockwell Automation and Siemans experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of electrical control schematic design and control configuration. Experience in system design using ACAD is a plus.
