  • Identify, evaluate technical and economic merits, recommend and execute on oil and gas investment opportunities
  • Conduct internal reserve and economic evaluation of acquisition, drilling, recompletion, and workover opportunities utilizing appropriate economic and engineering applications
  • Develop and ensure timely execution of field exploitation plans for existing assets
  • Utilize surveillance tools to monitor production and injection performance; make recommendations as necessary to maximize value/efficiency
  • Recommend necessary cased hole logs and/or surveys to monitor production and assist in recomplete/workover/flow optimization recommendations
  • Complete budgeting, forecasting, and reserve/economic analysis for year end reserve reporting on existing assets
  • Some engineers may be responsible for writing surveillance and well intervention programs including performing rig and non-rig (coil tubing) workovers: gas & water shut-offs, plugs, straddle liners, tubing patches/repair, pull and run new tubing
  • Leadership role in the development and implementation of growth strategies

  • This employee must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following software packages: Peep, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other standard engineering applications.
  • The employee must be self directed and capable of working in a small team environment along with other Engineers and Geoscientists.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management, industry partners and financial institutions.

Cost Estimating/Validation • Evaluate, establish and implement the required approach and methodology in undertaking cost estimating/verification/validation of projects through detail assessment and review overall cost estimate basis, estimate methodologies, engineering documents and basis, WBS and detail project schedules. • Provide guidance and coaching to sub teams in performing cost validation tasks for projects through implementation of systematic guidelines and procedures. Cost Forecasting • Integrate and establish high level awareness in Industry benchmarking of best practices through regular involvement with leading forecasting bodies e.g. CERA (Cambridge Energy and Research Association), IPA (Independent Project Analysis) and incorporate applications of CEC (Cost Engineering Committee) metrics for both upstream and downstream projects; in improving project Cost delivery and predictability capability within the group to be at par to industry's practices. Cost Risk Analysis • Design, facilitate and recommend the Cost Risk Analysis framework through identifications of risk factors/drivers and assigning of risk loading through the risk dependency matrix across cost estimate components and undertaking Monte Carlo simulation in identifying and recommending overall contingency estimate at required probabilities. Integrated Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis • Design, facilitate and recommend the Integrated QRA framework for Cost/Schedule through identifications of risk factors/drivers and assigning of risk impact ranges to the identified cost components in identifying overall risk probabilities. Education/Experience/Training: • Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent with minimum 12years relevant work experience or Master's Degree with minimum 11 years relevant work experience or PhD with minimum 10 years relevant work experience.
