  • Identify, evaluate technical and economic merits, recommend and execute on oil and gas investment opportunities
  • Conduct internal reserve and economic evaluation of acquisition, drilling, recompletion, and workover opportunities utilizing appropriate economic and engineering applications
  • Develop and ensure timely execution of field exploitation plans for existing assets
  • Utilize surveillance tools to monitor production and injection performance; make recommendations as necessary to maximize value/efficiency
  • Recommend necessary cased hole logs and/or surveys to monitor production and assist in recomplete/workover/flow optimization recommendations
  • Complete budgeting, forecasting, and reserve/economic analysis for year end reserve reporting on existing assets
  • Some engineers may be responsible for writing surveillance and well intervention programs including performing rig and non-rig (coil tubing) workovers: gas & water shut-offs, plugs, straddle liners, tubing patches/repair, pull and run new tubing
  • Leadership role in the development and implementation of growth strategies

  • This employee must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following software packages: Peep, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other standard engineering applications.
  • The employee must be self directed and capable of working in a small team environment along with other Engineers and Geoscientists.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management, industry partners and financial institutions.

Description:
Reservoir Engineer Publically traded Oil and Gas Company is seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer to Lead and be in charge of thier Engineering Department. Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, 5 years of evaluation and reservoir engineering experience, plus 5 years experience in upstream operations; drilling, completion, and production. Job Responsibilities: • Oversee maintenance of Operations Information System master files and related databases. • Prepare semi-annual reserves analysis (for SEC and Bank reporting), periodic forecasts and corporate budget reports. • Provide reserve estimates and economic analyses for exploration and development drilling and recompletion projects. • Assist in the portfolio analysis of companywide exploration, development and acquisition opportunities. • Monitor the production and provide engineering support for the company’s non-operated properties. • Evaluate potential acquisitions and divestures. • Provide engineering support for District Managers, G&G, Land and Accounting staffs. • Perform numerous economics analyses and evaluations upon request (corporate look backs, etc.) • Coordinate various state and Federal (OCC, TRRC, MMS, BLM) regulatory requirements (most of filings handled by engineering technicians). Software packages that our engineers actively utilize: • PHDWIN • Industry well analysis: IHS and PowerTools • Industry activity: IHS and DrillingInfo, HPDI • Geologic and production mapping: Petra • Company has an in-house tool for budgeting Candidate Profile – Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere where the engineer collaborates with the District Manager, other engineers, and the principals of Prime Energy. Must be highly organized with excellent project management abilities having delivered projects on time and on budget. Must be results-oriented, decisive and self motivated. Compensation: Compensation will commensurate with experience.
